RX 9070 XT vs RTX 5070 for Video Upscaling & 1440p Gaming

Hi there,

 

I currently have a GTX 1660 TI and looking to upgrade to either an RTX 5070 or RX 9070 XT.  The 5070 TI is somewhat out of my budget based on my region.

 

My primary use case for now involves upscaling a lot of old videos using something like Topaz Video AI.  I do game as well at 1440p highest resolution.

My understanding is that Nvidia cards are preferred for AI based tasks.  With that being said, should I consider AMD as well?

 

There aren't many resources online that compare the performance of these cards in terms of upscaling performance.

 

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

well, im pretty sure the 9070xt is faster than a 4080 Super in TVAI 5 and 6, which should tell you all you need to know.

all in all, definitely get the 9070xt. ai has been much improved with rx 9000 series.
