Hello,

I was hoping someone could lend me in the best direction on how to handle this. I have kids and I am wanting to block inappropriate or adult websites from my home network. I tried looking into OpenDNS, but from what I can see, OpenDNS doesn’t know how to handle HTTPS sites (If my research is wrong please let me know!). Are they any easy to semi easy solutions on how to achieve what I’m needing? I’m not really sure where to go.

Thank you!

Best solution is parental controls, I think you can block sites on dns but it’s tricky so I’d just add parental controls to their device

AFAIK Pihole should be able to block blacklisted websites even if they are using https. The user should just get an error if they try to go to a blocked website.

Obviously though, this requires you to manually add the sites to the blacklist, so you'd likely not be able to catch everything, but it would catch most well-known sites.

I'm having more fun than you 😠
