Graphics card boots up, and windows loads, but my other peripherals don’t work.

Very new PC builder here, I’ve been running my PC find through my motherboard on windows 10 (home 64 bit), Downloading drivers, steam, updating windows and all that, works absolutely fine. But as soon as I run my HDMI or DisplayPort through the graphics card some really weird stuff happens. First the computer and GPU start running, the keyboard and mouse turn on fine, but the display is black. However if I punch in my PIN as if I could actually see the screen, the screen suddenly turns on and takes me to my desktop where my keyboard and mouse promptly do nothing, it’s just stuck on the desktop. I’d like to note, all the peripherals are powered, and the screen does in fact show my desktop. However my keyboard and mouse simply don’t do anything when pressing on them, except for Alt Tab which highlights a window on the taskbar briefly.

Here’s what my specs are:

AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d 4.7ghz 8 core processor

Thermalright peerless assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU cooler

Gigabyte x870 eagle wifi7 ATX am5 motherboard (yeah I know the WiFi doesn’t work with win10)

G.skill trident Z5 RGB 64GB (2x 32GB) DDR5-6400 CL32 memory

Samsung 990 evo plus 4TB M.2 2280 PCIe 5.0 x2 nvme solid state drive

PNY OC GeForce RTX5080 16GB video card

Corsair RM850x (2024) 850W fully modular ATX power supply

I’ve tried:

Reconnecting power connecters,

Replugging in the GPU to the PCIe slot and also trying other PCIe slots,

Forcing PCIe 4.0 in bios,

Swapping display cables,

Triple checking the card is seated correctly,

Re-installing drivers,

And potentially a couple other things I’ve forgotten by now,

Also, I don’t have another PC or graphics card to test, so I can’t isolate wether the problem is the card or the rest of the PC.

Go and take a look around the BIOS. See if the USB ports are set to power save. Turn off that setting for USB ports saving power.

Go and take a look around the BIOS. See if the USB ports are set to power save. Turn off that setting for USB ports saving power.

After looking around I can’t find anything related to the USB ports that has anything to do with power saving. Do you by chance know where I would find it? All I can find is this screen

One of my PCs had USB problems.

Device manager showed a flagged USB hub.

Reinstalling MB chipset drivers solved it.

Is your iGPU deactivated in BIOS?

Sounds like the monitor is acting like a secondary, not primary.

Do you have more than one monitor?

Is your iGPU deactivated in BIOS?

I’ve tried different USBs, and I tried reconnecting my USB hubs too for good measure. But until another mentioned it I hadn’t even thought of it so thank you!

I did try and disable integrated graphics, that’s the one I forgot to mention lol.

And no, that’s my only monitor, I haven’t tried it with a different monitor which I now realize I do have so let me do that.

Oh wow yeah that might’ve done it, I mean I can see the Lock Screen now, and seems to be able to move around in my desktop! Thank you so much, I hadn’t even thought of the USB ports being the issue, really thought I just went out 1300 bucks. Thank you for your time!
