Hi, new here so unsure if this is the right place for this question. I have an Asus Flow x13 and have been using it to stream gameplay through a capture card from my xbox. This works fine but when I try to record and stream the stream gets really laggy. So I know on PCs you can use two graphics cards to stream on one and record on the other but I was wondering since the Flow x13 has that external gpu thing you can buy, If I got that would I be able to record on one and stream on the other? Or would it not work since it only lets you use one or the other on the laptop?

Thanks!

also I know I can download the stream after but I really dislike the quality from the VoD and if I have an internet blip then I lose some of it.

From what I remember, you could build a dedicated streaming PC for the price of those eGPUs… and it would probably be more powerful too.

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

In obs, you can set the recording to use stream encoder which reduces resource usage as the computer will not have to encode 2 video streams at the same time.
