Hi guys.

I am proud owner of old Alienware 17 R3 with 6820HK and GTX 980M 8GB VRAM.

I wanted to get myself some MSI GT73 Raider laptop because I like steelseries RGB lightning per key and the internal design of the laptop, anf ofc I would use it for gaming, and it is 17" model.

It has i7 8750H and GTX 1060 Mobile 6GB VRAM.

Then I saw comparision in link(video) below and if this is accurate FPS difference is minimal, so totally not worth it, waste of money.

What you guys think?

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

1060M might be a generation newer, but it is two tiers lower than 980M. If you want a more significant upgrade you'll have to look for something higher up or even newer.

Your starting point is 980M. Just going up a gen at same tier, you'd need to find 1080 mobile, but instead you're looking down at 1060 level.

I haven't looked up mobile chip performance, but 1070 desktop was about same performance as 980 Ti desktop.

60 series are 2 tiers lower than 80 series.

As for the performance difference yup HUGE waste of money they perform identical.

I had this steelseries keyboard before in my gt70 ond (exactly the same thing) its fine genuinly nothing special about it at all. People were raving that its super good and whatnot. Its just a good laptop keyboard thats about it. Having used your alienware too just a gen newer id say the alienware keyboard would have my preference
