9070xt connection to the power supply

Hello,

 

I have a 9070xt Red Devil and MSI mpg1000g which came with a two 6+2 pin cables and one 16pin to 2 x 6+2 cables.

 

I just want to confirm that the correct way to connect GPU to the Power Supply is by using the 16pin (on the PSU) to connect to two 6+2 pin slots on the GPU and the connect the remaining slot on the GPU with a traditional 6+2 pin to the PSU slot.

Is this the optimal way to connect or is it safer to buy a new 6+2 cable from MSI?

This is how you connect your 9070 XT to the PSU.

 

That cable you mention that is a 16pin to 2x6+2 pin might actually be for what you describe.

I have never seen a cable like that before.

Yeah I was looking at the website for the power supply.

But it definitely doesn't go the other way since the 16pin is rated for 600w while each of the 6+2 is rated for 150w each so thats not enough.

I would say that it goes the way you thought in your first post.  16pin to PSU and 2x6+2 to GPU.
