The time for when I'll be making my build is getting closer (November this year), but I'm still on the fence about something like a 5070. My GPU choice is between a 7800 XT (500 euros), 5070 (600-630 euros) or a 9070 (710 euros). I'm not certain on if an extra 100 euros on a 12gb 5070 is going to last me as long as 7800 xt, despite the better performance. Any advice?

Have a look through this video.  Its only 10 months old so still quite relevant.

I still think you are safe with 12GB but its on the limit in some titles,  especially with DLSS and FrameGen a RTX 5070 can take advantage of.

Right, thank you. My only concern was running out of Vram in the coming years. We'll see what I go for, but it's good to know they're all fine options.

You have 6 months still, come back end of October.

There will be new GPU releases still to come.  New games affecting said GPUs.  Many more "VRAM for 2026 and beyond!!!!!" videos.

There are too many variables you haven't clarified.  How often do you upgrade or build or buy?  How fat is your wallet?  Will you have more money in 5 years?  What do you play?  What resolution?

Etc.   When you're ready to build, come on back.

... I mean... this channel is really not objective... They're still riding that "not enough vram 😭" train today (basically daily)

It was already 8 years ago *very* clear that 6, 8 or 12 and sometimes even 16 GB was "not enough"...

The truth is games will just use less if there's less available it's "usually" not a problem... But it's very easy to make it one - just run the newest AAA trash at ultra max settings, there you go, "not enough vram...😭". Nvidia bad! xD
