PC suddenly shuts down after first startup, then starts normally after second startup

Posted (edited)

Hey guys,

I have the build shown in this pcpartpicker build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tjJ8v4 (Windows 11, 64bit)

BIOS info:
SMBIOSBIOSVersion: F31
Manufacturer: American Megatrends International, LLC.
Name: F31
Version: ALASKA - 1072009

Now I do have the problem that after startup the fans are going full speed for quite some time. After a few seconds (30 seconds or so) the PC suddenly shuts down. Then, when starting up the PC a second time, everything goes smoothly. The fans are not going full speed and the PC does not crash.

In the Gigabyte Control Center I noticed that the CPU temperature rises up to 80-90°C for some reason. On the second startup it only rises up to about 50°C.

Hopefully anyone can help me to fix this crash and/or temperature issue. Or might that be a hardware issue?

Let me know If you need some more information.

My guess would be that AIO is dying (pump) it gets stuck on first startup and after powering down and up again gets unstuck.

That's basically my only guess.

Or it's doing memory training every time, could try updating bios.

What so you're able to boot into windows and observe high temperature then after reboot the temp is ok? Must be some issue with the pump connection for your be Quiet AIO (cpu cooler) Check the connection to motherboard

Yes, I get into windows and can start Gigabyte Control Center to check the fan speeds and temperatures in Smart Fan. Unfortunately I cannot see any information about the AIO pump there. Also, I'm not sure if the crash happens due to the temperature or not. Is there any log somewhere (in windows or the bios or so) to check the reason for the system shutdown?

Yes if any log was generated, you can check event viewer, in system tab, filter for critical errors. You can also check pwm speeds in HWinfo64, choose sensors only when starting the program.
