Windows 10 Not Recognizing Monitor Speakers

Go to solution Solved by OmfgLasers,

FIXED. It was an AMD audio driver issue. I rolled the driver back two versions to 24.3.1. As soon as I restarted, it identified the monitor as an output device and everything is working again. Looks like driver version 25.5.1 has some issues. Can't believe I didn't try that earlier. Thanks to everyone who attempted to help!

Problem: When I attempt to switch audio output to my monitor speakers in the "Sound" settings, the monitor does not show up as an option anymore.

Specs:

Monitor- View Sonic VX3218C-2K (Latest Driver from VS Installed)

CPU- Ryzen 5 2600 (Stock Cooler)

GPU- Asus ROG Strix RX580 OC (Driver 25.5.1)

Mobo- Asus ROG Strix X470-F Gaming (BIOS 6223 x64)

PSU- Seasonic GX-750

RAM- G. Skill Ripjaws V 16Gx2 3200Mhz

Storage- WD Blue NVMe 1Tb

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro (Up to date as of 05/15/2025)

Overclocked: No, I have not overclocked anything.

Attempted Solutions:

Tried restarting. Restarted a lot while messing with drivers.

Uninstalled related drivers and reinstalled.

Updated all related drivers.

Updated BIOS

Downloaded monitor driver from VS and replaced the Generic one with it.

Tried switching from DPI to HDMI cable.

Updated Windows.

Any help is much appreciated, thank you in advance!

EDIT:

I hooked the monitor up to a laptop and it found the monitor speakers no problem. After doing some more research, it seems like the AMD High Definition Audio Device driver is what runs the monitor speakers. That driver has been reinstalled and updated multiple times during the trouble shooting. However, the monitor speakers still wont show up. What does show up is Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (2-High Definition Audio Device) and my wireless headset.

I think, that sound can be  delivered via 3,5mm audio connector (MB sound card connector) or HDMI, or DP

Yea, it looks like there is a headphone jack on the monitor. So, go from the "Line Out" jack on the MOBO to the headphone jack on the monitor? That might be a workaround, but I really want to fix the issue in general and not have to rely on a workaround.
