1st Time Tearing Down a GPU, Need Advice (GIGABYTE RX 7900 GRE)

1st Time Tearing Down a GPU, Need Advice (GIGABYTE RX 7900 GRE)

Basically, hotspots. I wanted to change its shitty thermal paste with a Phasesheet from TG. But I got questions.

  • How to remove the bolts without damaging the warranty sticker/seal
  • I cant find the sizes of thermalpads, I will replace them too
  • Since this is my 1st time, I cant find any video of a GIGABYTE RX 7900 GRE to help me with the repasting and repadding

Any help would do or links, thanks in advance!

why are you under the impression that hotspot temps are a problem

I mean, cooling stuff it generally is better than being hot. Shit reaches 100c+ on hotspot. I saw one time while gaming on a unoptimized game that it reaches 110c

hot spot temps are always higher than normal , it's normal to see them exceed what you would want the overall temp to be.

Usually you take apart older cards due to the overall temp being too high with dried paste , not relatively new cards based solely on the hotspot temp

You realize this isn't a problem temp right?

All you're doing is transferring the heat to your room more efficiently.

Nothing is being saved or improved.

You're also risking issues by not knowing what you're doing to something not meant to be tinkered with.

did you buy it new a decade ago or did you buy it at the same exact time everyone else on earth bought their 7900?

Not that any of that matters as it sounds more like you WANT the hot spot to be a problem and to take the gpu apart , vs the gpu you bought working normally and you being incorrect. If thats the case you can just state you want to take the gpu apart for no reason , would be a lot easier to type etc....
