Hi,

I have:

I5-13500

Asus B760M-A D4 motherboard

32GB @3200MHz memory

RTX 4070 X16 top slot

Now Creative AE5-Plus sound card Bottom slot was audigy RX 5 and started having issues after update attempt.

1TB Samsung 980 for OS

1TB Samsung 980 for Storage

2TB Samsung 980 Pro for more storage on a PCIe card in the PCIe X16 X4 slot Middle slot

Generic Startech card reader

Pioneer Bluray drive

I am getting a fail to install because of a known hardware issue. Is that because of the CPU. I was using Update Assistant because I did not install right away from Windows update. Support for 23H2 end on November 11th. The update assistant does not state what the Hardware issue is. I think that I can rule out the sound card because I installed it in a 11th Gen system that has 24H2 already on it. This would be the Audigy RX 5 sound card working fine on older system with 24H2. I did read about complaints about reduced performance on 13th and 14 gen Intel systems. Is microsoft blocking the update because of the known performance hit? Oh. and the last updated driver on Creatives web sight for the RX 5 was May 2011. Have not reattempted to install 24H2 after swapping out the sound card to the AE5 Plus. Left well enough alone for now.

It's possible... I also read they do this on purpose due to how bad the update is, but I don't recall the exact reasons (although it ironically has probably something to do with "recall"...)

That said, I did some testing, 24h2 *improved* performance for me (Ryzen CPU) but I still hate it, spypilot is everywhere and the UI is still trash...

You could check this list to see if something might be the case for your pc

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-24h2

For me it took awhile to get 24H2 delivered because I had an online game installed that used an incompatible version Easy Anti-Cheat.

After some time the game developers changed their anti cheat to something else and shortly after I got 24H2.

Hovewer 24H2 itself comes with issues and problems, plenty of people dislike it for valid reasons.... 💣

Use this site to generate an unattended file to place in the usb drive for the installer and you can debloat it. I have been doing that for a while and it works great. Especially on laptops for battery life. My old surface book 2 is now back to to over 6 hours battery life while streaming video.

I know that trying to install 24H2 screwed up my sound card driver and reinstalling them would not fix issue. That said the driver for RX 5 was from over a year ago. I installed my AE 5Plus and it is working better. Ya, 24H2 sucks and I might have to skip that one. Works on 10th gen laptop and it works on my 11th gen desktop. Is it a Microsoft problem or a Intel problem. Funny thing is that it works fine on My Z220 HP with a I7-3770 in it that's "way too old". I think that they choose for features not to work, like my sound card. It's funny how audio turns off a random and I have to restart to get it back. That's just Windows 11 or a old install of it.

Maybe try re-installing Windows 11 23H2. Maybe it will work.
