Unable to boot usb for Truenas Core

Go to solution Solved by tmz,

Tried it and it didn't work at first.

But after a lot of googleing I found a post on a obscure forum that said my mobo had an issue with booting from usb on the usb 3.0 ports. So I  popped the thumb drive in to an 2.0 and it worked straight away.

Thanks for the help anyways.

Try using DD mode in rufus, or try etcher

Hey there,

I'm trying to install truenas core on a old pc to use it as an home server. However there is no way I'm able to boot from the usb to install truenas.

To make the usb ive used the iso image from the truenas website and put it through rufus. However it seems like the system doesnt see the drive. I've tried it with multiple known working usbs but none have done it.

The old (hopefully soon to be) server is running an old gigabyte 78lmt mobo, with a fx6300, 16gb of ddr3, a boot ssd and two 2tb hdd's.

I hope someone is able to help me out.
