Hi all,

I'm wanting to upgrade my current monitor (Dell 1440p IPS 165 Hz) to an OLED, but my machine is used for both gaming and work. Aka, I work in Word and Excel 99% of the time and I've heard that OLED's aren't good for text/numbers?

Is this still the case? Or has OLED tech made strides on this front? Is it even an issue anymore?

If OLED is OK for text/numbers at this stage, are there any brands/SKU's that are better than others when it comes to text/numbers?

Wondering if I can upgrade or whether I have to wait for the next tech (mini LED?) which doesn't have issues with text/numbers...

Thanks in advance!

Hm I'd say in general it's fine, as some have been using OLED for years with no issues with mixed workload, like desktop work. Be it editing and such. Not sure is it really worth it mostly for only Word and Excel ifbhalf the time is gaming and rest could be worth it.

As for text clarity it's fine, some may not find it an issue, but this is mostly for sub 4K monitors, I have 4K one and it's higher pixel density masks different pixel structure that Windows ignores for proper text clarity. The one I have is WOLED they also improved sub-pixel layout with latest gen too. But for 4K not really to be bothered with. The QD-OLED I'd avoid for such work being it's glossy and distracting.
