Razer lap. - Crucial NVMM doesn't show up in bios [RZ09-0301]

I am trying to make a fresh install on a Crucial P3 1Tb nvme, an upgrade from the oem Samsung 512gb (only one slot). This gen razer blade was right before they put a second nvme slot *buyers remorse during pandemic... nice* I tested a few different configurations:

 

- oem control (in between all the other configurations to make sure it still works oem) --> works

 

- new crucial P3 (w/ and without external pendrive with new OS) --> freezes completely and I can't access bios

 

- just the pendrive no nvme --> works

 

- Crucial P3 in nvme enclosure --> works but not ideal for boot drive (right?)

 

I have been looking for possible problems, like updating firmware on P3 from crucial website (no update released), and checking on the crucial website and verify that it os supported. I am currently all out of ideas, has anybody had to deal with this at all?

BIOS update?

Check in uefi/bios 

if secure boot is enable (disable it)

if fast boot is enable (disable it)

and after that, swap Ssd, and that should get you to the uefi.
 

if still no progress, something has to be really wrong.

There are no new updates released by razer for my laptop, but I will double check

I did disable secure boot, but if my nvme was empty it shouldn't be a problem right? and it boots properly with just the ventoy flashdrive and flashdrive + oem nvme. I'll double check on the fastboot but I think I disabled it too.

 

sorry, I am not sure I made this clear, oem nvme is still working fine but this would be second upgrade I try on this laptop and it doesn't stick about two or three years ago I tried some RAM and the Razer Blade would crash and reboot constantly. was I crazy for trying some DDR4 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz CL22-22-22-53?

 

Why are laptops like this? puzzling... for a company like razer making a proper bios would seem like a thing they would put some effort into, no?

Then I have no clue ( clearing cmos, or update can also help ), easiest would be to return it and buy different model.

and you could buy something little better than Crucial P3 ( as it’s DRAMless QLC PCIe 3.0 SSD )
 

sometimes SSD just don't work ( as some companies don't exactly follow the spec precisely ), we have seen it, but it’s so rare, that we just don't even mention it….

thanks for the help, I am always trying  to make do with what is easily available but oh well, I'm in southamerica rn and was trying to go for the budget option... lesson learned. It never occurred to me that an nvme could just not work. In the websites that deliver here I see that there's a P3 plus and some other p3 family options, should I avoid them entirely? Any recs on a less expensive option that are usually trustworthy?

P3 plus is the same Ssd, just not locked to pcie 3.0. 
 

What’s the option you have? Any store you want to but from, country, budget?
