Motherboard m2 ssd slot speeds

So my motherboard (Asus TUF GAMING B450-PLUS II) has 2 m2 slots and as far as I understand 1 of them is half the speed of the other one (32gb/s and 16gb/s) if that is true is there any noticeable difference between them for games and windows? Should I put ssd with windows into faster or slower slot and ssd with games into faster or slower? Chat gpt told me that it is better to use faster slot for windows but idk

No noticeable difference in performance.  People can't even tell the difference between NVMe and SATA speeds.

The top slot will do 32Gb/s while the bottom slot will do 20Gb/s. Unlikely to make much of a real world difference unless you're going to spend a lot of time copying very large files from one drive to the other. I'd still follow convention and install my OS on the top slot connected to the CPU.

Pcie 2.0 is 8b/10b, so it’s 16Gbps, and it’s through the chipset, so can be even slower, even to around 1450MBps.

 

I would use faster M.2 slot, the one directly from CPU, for the OS.
