I have a system with these specs:

Ryzen7 2700x

rx 6700xt

16gb ram ddr4 3200mh

x470 msi motherboard

(I don’t know if they are useful)

and lately my system keeps on having crashes but not when I play any games or generally crashing an application

but rather when it’s idle or I’m doing something like a discord call my monitors will go black for one sec and the open up again and boom I have a crash report and it’s getting to the point where they happen pretty frequently

I’ve tried reseating my gpu

my drivers are up to date

If anyone know what might be the cause or how to fix it I would like to hear it

What OS? Windows 11, 10, or some port of Linux? Hackintosh?  Try reinstalling the OS and updating BIOS, etc. Try unplugging the monitor cables and plugging them into different ports on the GPU, make sure monitors are plugged into the gpu and not the MoBo, re-install drivers, if none of that works, go to your nearest computer repair shop(MicroCenter is best, go there if you live in the US and close to one)

Linus did a video on microcenter repair vs a local shop and the pc started with an unplugged cable in the open and the people at microcenter put on new thermal paste and didn't even plug in the fan control cable.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3D1EIlcYCfEIE&ved=2ahUKEwjz5qTxv6CNAxUB_8kDHQm0HwoQtwJ6BAgSEAI&usg=AOvVaw3phIJc9IKguIMyc1EhqDNn

huh. When I went to microcenter with a dead-out-of-box CPU in my new build, they figured it out and returned the PC to me within 2 days. I guess it varies from location to location.

Yes, specs are useful, but also any overclocks, undervolts etc?

Try to run your system as close to stock as possible (that includes reset CMOS and no XMP) and see if that helps anything?
