This ShortCircuit video now links to online casino stuff, rather than the product of manufacturer

Go to solution Solved by wanderingfool2,

Just checked again, looks like LMG has removed the link.  Credits to them for that.

From the looks of things, it appears that the site has been hacked and defaced considering some of the stuff that's being displayed relates to what the site originally.

Agreed, looks like the site got hacked. Not much LMG can do about that. Its still the correct website. Hopefully the site owner manages to get it fixed eventually.

Well I mean LMG should be removing the link once it's brought to their attention.  @LinusTech

As I've mentioned before in my previous posts about similar things to this, I knew someone who was an online writer back before YouTube days etc (she was making a decent living).  She had strict guidelines from the site she was working on in that any article that she had written, she had to go back and verify that the links still worked and didn't bring you to some random website (it was something like the ask.com or something like that).  iirc about twice a year she should go through all the links posted and check that the links were still operating [she had used an automated tool at the time though to do a quick verification though initially].  Every article she wrote though, she created an excel list of sources she used which made it a lot easier for her.

Yea, it certainly might be hacked, but I'd assume LTT wouldn't want to be lining to that anyway?

Looks to me like they let their domain expire and someone else sniped it, not so much as hacked.

Looking at the whois history, it seems like the domain expired on the 27th of november last year and wasn't renewed until january when this this gambling shit took it over. I don't know if it is because they changed their URL or because they went bankrupt...

edit :A quick google search tells me they took the site down in september. Which would make sense if they decided to change the URL and not renew their existing one. I am guessing the new site is simply flashforge.com, without the usa. It also explains why the last snapshot on the wayback machine for their site is only up to the 18th of september. Weirdly enough, there's nothing on their website that would indicate a domain change... That is not the way to go when you change your domain....

But good to see LMG taking steps to remove the link once it was flagged.

More then likely they decided to abandon the -usa(dot)com domain since a whois check on just flashforge.com shows that it has been active for around the same amount of time (possibly because domaintools hadn't properly updated its records and was showing data from before september and after) and has an expiration of March 2026.

I have a feeling that there is a reason why they did that, but community standards prohibits me from saying since it could turn into a political dumpster fire.

Just fyi, Linus is not the proper person to tag. While he probably can get things done, @LMGcommunity account is there for highlighting such things.
