Posted May 12 Hello guys, To be honest, I don't know much about monitors — this will actually be my first one. I'm building a system with a 9800X3D and RTX 5080, and I need some help choosing the right monitor for it. I mostly play competitive games, so I’d say 4K gaming isn’t really necessary for me right now — probably overkill, to be honest. That’s why I’m looking for a minimum 1440p (2K), 240Hz OLED monitor. I'm also open to anything with a higher refresh rate. Which monitor would you recommend? Also, if you had to choose between Samsung and ASUS for an OLED gaming monitor, which one would you go with? To be honest, I didn't mention a budget because I'm not very familiar with OLED monitor prices. And in my country, prices fluctuate a lot. But I guess it would be somewhere around $800–900, give or take. Oh god, I actually have no idea! Where can you buy the monitors from? Not every region has access to massive sites like Amazon, Newegg etc... so its important to know where you can purchase from so we can help you choose. I'm from Turkiye, and while I can order from Amazon (including Amazon.com.tr or other country-specific versions), I usually buy from local e-commerce stores here. Some examples: https://www.sinerji.gen.tr/monitor-c-2029 https://www.tebilon.com/cevre-birimleri/monitorler/gaming-monitor/ https://www.gaming.gen.tr/kategori/cevre-birimleri/monitor/ Right now, the monitor that appeals to me the most is the ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMG. I'm also considering the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 (LS27DG612SUXUF) as an alternative. Do you think I'm on the right track with these choices? I am currently using an Odyssey G6 and I am extremely happy with it. It's got a fantastic panel and looks great right out of the box! It took me some getting used to (the colors) but I love it and am so happy with it coming from an older LG 1440p monitor. I don't think you could go wrong with either one of those choices! Posted May 13 Brands generally don't mean a lot. It's just Samsung specifically that means a lot. Don't buy Samsung monitors, period. If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
