i'm planning to build around intel arc a750 due to its low price and my tight budget , i have two cpu option

1. Ryzen 5 5600/x
motherboards : gigabyte b550m ds3h ac
                           msi b550m pro vdh wifi

2. i5 12400F
motherboard: ASRock B660M phantom gaming 4

here, some people say they need an intel cpu to lower the power consuption of the gpu , but here the both amd and intel cpu are priced similar , but the selection of motherboards isnt , intel motherboard this is the only motherboard i could find for my price 10K indian rupees, which has 4 ram slot , other intel motherboard at a similar or a bit higher pricing doesnt even have 4 ram slots, meanwhile amd has good selection and now i got 2 of motherboard in the list

Please help me to select whether amd or intel ,

IM pretty sure i wont upgrade the cpu or gpu , mostly its just adding more ram and ssd

Thanks in advance

If you dont want to bother searching for used 5600 and B550 motherboard combo, Intel will serve you better.

Neither platform has value in being drop-in upgraded. Sure, the AM4 platform can drop in a 5700x3D/5800x3D, but that's probably not worth it over a 5600x in terms of value at this point. Without going with a Z series motherboard for Intel, there'd be no point in dropping in a 14900k or such down the line if it becomes cheap.

I'd say AM4 simply because its not a dead platform like LGA1700. AMD is still putting out products for it, so it'll likely retain its value better. You could also drop in a 5950x without much compromise compared to the LGA1700 motherboard that would gimp a 14900k.

You could also consider some second-hand cards from the Big Two. They'll probably result in a better overall experience since Intel is pretty new to dedicated graphics cards.
