Hello, I was planning on getting the Asrock B850 Steel Legend to pair with the 9700x. Since Hardware Unboxed use to ravage about Asrock B650 motherboard. However, I’m now worried about the whole fried CPU problem. Should I just avoid Asrock altogether and hope I get better luck with other brands or is the problem overblown? Moreover, after posting this question on Reddit. The opinion is pretty divided. One side said avoid Asrock board and the other said it's a very small failure and nothing that I should be too worried about. I'm also open to suggestion and opinion on other b850 motherboard!

PS X870 and B850 is the best option for me since X670 and B650 have limited availability in my region

General Asrock fan but I’d skip their 800 series boards and Zen5 at the moment. Casual scroll through /r/Asrock for the past few weeks was all I needed.

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -  Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2

Ryzen 7 5800x - XFX RX6600 - Asus STRIX B550i - 32GB DDR4-3200CL14 - Corsair SF750 - Lian Li O11 Mini - EK 360 AIO - Asus PG348Q

Honestly, I have been lurking in that sub too. It not only scare me away from Asrock, but also makes me sweat a little for going with the 9000 series CPU. I'm currently looking at the GIGABYTE B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE since it have plenty of USB port. You can never have too many native port. But Gigabyte is you know Gigabyte. They have a pretty mix bag reputation. What are your opinion?
