I'm not sure if it's my keyboard, my computer or just Windows 11, but when I hold CTRL and C, X or V it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Usually I can still right click and get what I want (although the Windows 11 copy, cut and past icons in the right-click menu still keep throwing me off). However, I'm just so used to using my keyboard shortcuts. This is frustrating.

Note that CTRL B, I and U and such all seem to work just fine.

Maybe it's just certain apps and programs. I need to start writing down when it works and when it doesn't so as to know if it's an app issue. I believe the last time it didn't work was in Firefox.

  • Windows 11 Home, Version 10.0.26100
  • MoBo: Gigabyte H610M S2H
  • CPU: 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12400T
  • Keyboard: Old beige ergonomic PS2 PC Concepts SK-6000 with integrated PS2 track pad (single fingers only).

Where/when specifically does this happen? When filling out job applications online, for whatever reason, a lot of the stuff I can't just copy/paste. It requires me to type it in manually. Likewise, when creating an account to fill out said application, the forms usually don't allow for copy/paste specifically to "retype email address" so maybe it's something like that?

It seems to have happened when writing on forums like this one. I copy, or at least thought I copied, something from one page or something, then can't get it to paste with CTRL-V, then I right click and paste, only to find it that what I had copied last wasn't on the clipboard.

This forum specifically has issues with copy/paste. My spelling is about as good as Linus dropping things. So I often resort to quickly type it into Google, very butchered, it figures it out usually. But when I go to copy/paste the result, it either doesn't paste, or deletes most of what I just typed, or moves stuff around the text editor like I just pasted an image into a Word doc. Shit is wack.

This is because of javascript auto-completes. For example hit @ this forum will sit there for over a minute waiting for you to keep typing. Youtube comments and Twitch chat also do this.

The reason certain things don't copy paste well half the time is because Windows itself doesn't know what you're trying to do too.
