Windows Server 2025 Remote Desktop Connection Settings

Hi, I recently updated a server pc from windows server 2012 r2 to Windows server 2025.

 

They have softwares installed on this server that is needed for work and their workers remotely login on the same network through their own PC. 

 

Previously on server 2012 r2, when they login using rdp, it would directly open the software that was assigned to the user account that was set in computer management under users then in the environment tab. 

 

But since upgrading to windows server 2025, if they login using the same account with all the same settings, it would open a windows environment that allows them access to other things on the pc. 

 

Is there any way to revert the settings to how it was previously or is there a way to prevent them from accessing other things aside from that specific software?
