Frame gen increases latency.

 

It increases visual fluidity by rendering more frames on the GPU, but the engine's frame rate stays largely the same (slightly decreased, because frame gen itself has a cost)

 

What you need for competitive play is mostly network latency. And there is no option other than using a server that is as close to your physical location as possible.

If the question is how to improve graphical responsiveness, options are (where supported):

• Enable latency reduction feature in video driver or game (e.g. Nvidia Reflex)
• Use upscaling to try and improve fps
• Use lower settings to try and improve fps
• If running at low fps in particular, disable V-sync so you get updates sooner.
