ES are neat to have, but retail is always better.. unless you get one that was made just before production started.

true, iirc it is more of a QS than an ES anyhow [according to my father who I got it from ~5 years back], so this case not very much different.

QS can be pretty decent. I have had 3 ES, and only one was a dud for overclocking. How does that one clock?

If I remember correctly it clocked at official speeds [~3.2ghz all core turbo], I haven't gotten to testing yet due to needing a new motherboard for it.

It's not, I simply shared it because I thought it's neat and haven't had many of them yet, no big deal, just thinking that it is nice :).
