Im want to replace my G502 Proteus Spectrum with a mouse better for FPS

i want to replace it for a couple of reasons.

first of all, its abit broken. the scroll wheel button has died a little too long ago, and i can feel the left starting give up.

second, its pretty old at around 5/6 years old.

and third, its super heavy.

1. Wireless.
2. Light (idk to what give you exactly i just don't want to move a semi-truck when i aim)

3. left-right scroll wheel buttons (if this mouse just doesnt exist this can be left out)
4. works well with linux. (from my experience Logitech works pretty good. and there seem to be something for Razer products but i don't know how well it works)

my budget is around 150$. if you need more info comment i will try to answer as soon as possible

Well, you aren't limiting yourself to nothing at least. You've got a wide enough set of requirements with a decent enough budget I'm sure something out there exists. It's really hard to reccomend mice, there's a lot of them, no one has tried them all (except maybe RocketJumpNinja, I'd check him out if I were you).

I'm really anal about my mice, and after switching mice a lot over the years I settled on the Logitech G Pro Wireless for quite a while. I upgraded to the G Pro Superlight and then the G Pro Superlight X2 (the pro Superlight was fine, but I lost it while traveling). I also daily drive Linux, and there was one issue I came across with the G Pro Superlight X2, the open source software I would use in Linux to apply settings to it didn't work anymore (Solaar). I don't think it was an issue with the software specifically, but the only thing it could do was tell me the battery life. They change the wireless receiver on the X2 and I couldn't change any settings on it anymore because of that. I don't know if it will be possible for the developer of Solaar to ever work around it either, it seems to be an intentional change from Logitech. I don't like being locked to 800 DPI for everything, so I got a Steelseries Rival 3 Wireless now.

It's fine, it's not as good as the X2, but I actually like that it uses AAA batteries, and it's not locked to any software at all. I had a bit of a tough time finding the actual DPI values for the DPI switch, but once I got that figured out it works great. I haven't had any issues with discomfort or anything like that. I'm getting old, and having a super lightweight mouse is nice, but it's not going to make me play any better these days. The only thing I don't like is the scroll wheel has gotten pretty squeaky. I wouldn't give it a hard reccomendation, I'd just go check out RocketJumpNinja's website for better reccomendations.

Isn't viper like slightly worse than DeathAdder or something?

No, why? They're completely different shapes. I find Viper better than DA but that's just me.

Rtings has quite a long list of mouse reviews by the way:

https://www.rtings.com/mouse/reviews/best/by-usage/gaming

It's a rabbit hole from which you can pick some interesting mice to check out.

For one - Razer Viper V3 Pro or Razer Basilisk V3 Pro

Depends what shape is needed. But can't say much about Linux support.

What's this useful for?

Let me do a bit of research.

I guess it depends which version.

V3 HyperSpeed is really good:

The differences are very subtle, but they're there, I guess specifically it has to be mentioend if you're min-maxing peripherals, Viper can seem slightly worse:

Though you mentioned DA which is ergo shape over these two that are symmetrical. But either way, yeah I mean usually newer version of any sure.

It basically comes down to shape mostly, tech wise all good. Not sure which difference you mean, though I wouldn't necessarily base comparisons solely from rtings alone, no shade on them they do great stuff for monitors.

But back to main thing Viper vs DA they're difference type of shapes, ergo vs symmetrical so depends on persons preference. Otherwise any of these is good. Aside them, many other brands nowadays that offer I'd argue better mice and even value for some.

Look at ms response time, I understand it's like nonexistant latency difference.

And once again, nonexistant latency:

But it depends depends, V3 Pro Viper is faster:

Yeah those are all basically good, there are some a bit higher even but perform great and wouldn't be a deciding factor against. Some sensor implementation of same type are just better for example. Especially at much higher polling rates where it matters. Could be some software optimization that could change, but also one is older one is newer but both top tier sensors anyway.
