If you already have 12th and plan to spend 100$+ on upgrading it, go for the best option for the money. Spending an extra 30$ on a top,14400f, only makes sense, imo.

Small detail - you want to watch out for the core stepping when getting a mid-tier 13-14th gen CPU because some of them are actually rehashed Alder Lake parts and not Raptor Lake. Some people will incorrectly say it makes no difference even though the Alder Lake stepping clearly gets worse temps and boosts less.

Not every Core i5-13400F is the same: Raptor (B0) vs. Alder (C0) lake - HWCooling.net

If you can contact the seller, ask what stepping their batch is.

Depends on the retailer ("sold by" in the product description). You can search for their customer support and ask directly but it might not be easy getting a straight answer esp if they're clueless about tech. If it's sold directly by Amazon it's probably a lost cause.

Just ask them which stepping they have.
