Hello,

I have a pretty old system with an i5 9400, 16gb ddr4 ram (Corsair + Gskill) , XFX RX 5500xt thic ii pro 8gb (5 years running), Gigabyte H310M m2 2.0 (3 years running), PSU : Gigabyte P450b 80 plus bronze (3 years running) , bunch of hdds and a 128gb transcend nvme ssd running in x2. I had a bad sector in one my mechanical hdd but the nvme ssd has 93 percent health recorded by crystal disk.

My pc was running fine for a very long time , but i am experiencing an issue recently :

1) Whenever i put pc in sleep mode, i get no display when waking up. At first the issue occurred rarely but now its consistent.

2) Now i get occasional black screen whenever i power on pc. I had to hard reset or pull out all usb devices to get display output from the pc.

3) I dont get any stuttering nor freezes during gaming or heavy workloads but if i put it to sleep after intensive work the problems in point 1 and 2 occurs.

4) Reliability monitor suggested hardware problem (Critical kernel errors) , error code 31 in device manager, cant initialize the gpu etc.

5) For troubleshooting i ddu drivers and used other software sided methods. However, none of those worked.

Therefore, could u plz isolate the core issue with my system?. Chatgpt and gemini suggested that it can be either gpu or psu. I think it can be psu as i dont get any crashes during intensive gaming or productive workloads.

Did you replace a monitor?

My computer only started doing that after swapping a 60hz TN panel with a 144hz 4K one.
