So I have an ASUS Z87-C motherboard and I have/had 24 GB’s of mismatched Ram Sticks I found a deal for 32GB OF DDR3.

after trying to post with those new Sticks in it wouldn’t post, with one of the original sticks in it posts.

in Bios it recognizes the Ram in the System and even acknowledges that the Sticks are 8GB’s, in bios it doesn’t add the Ram to the size of (Ram) Memory in the system and when I booted up in windows it only recognizes 8GB’s of Ram (my old Ram Module)

the Kit I Purchased is a Samsung M393B1G70QH0-YK0Q9 8GB PC3L 12800R-11-12-C2-P2 (4 Ram Modules 8 GB’s Each).

is there a way to get these modules to work in my Desktop? Or do I need to Look for another Kit that my Motherboard Will use Better?

Registered sticks won't work.

Unbuffered ECC may work, but not in ECC mode. THere also generally not cheaper than the non ecc udimms, so get those for a desktop.

Ddr3 is so damn cheap these days why even bother with registered ecc that definitely doesnt work on consumer platforms? Its also 1rx4 which means even hedt like x58 and x79 that technically do support ecc will refuse to boot due to regular boards not supporting x4 rams

As for the mismatched ram config if they are oem bare pcbs send pictures of the label and a closup of all the ics for identification then ill reccomend an upgrade though id have to assume you are using a k cpu? If so aim for ddr3 3200 or higher cause afaik those asus boards are t topology which should do 3200 or atleast 3000 with ease
