Hello!

I recently bought a used PC and I removed the side panel to clean and when I tried to put it on again I realized it was putting pressure on the CPU cooler. The side panel is ever so slightly bent outwards and I noticed that the computer got quite noisy when under stress. The temps look pretty normal, but is this a serious issue that I should solve or is it alright? And is there anyway to solve this without getting a new cooler?

Any advice is appreciated!

This is not a serious issue and shouldn't affect performance at all.

When you mean noisey do you mean fan noise or vibration in the side panel from touching the cooler?

What case is this? Some where the side panel screws on to the side of the case you can just add a couple of washers to space it out some. Others, no it's not as easy of a fix, without getting more creative.

What cooler is that, so big it touches the side panel of a 20cm wide case ?

The cooler is called Peerless Assassin 120, one of the fans is placed further out than the other which is what is causing this issue, and it seems to be because the RAM sticks is in the way.

I'm not 100% sure to be honest, but I assume that is the issue since the noises are unusual for fans. There's no noticable vibration when I touch the side panel though.

can leave it, move it to the back of the cooler, or remove it.

it posable its bending the fan and blades hitting the side or vibrations from the fan witch could be annoying

Ok

You can swap the protruding fan location to the "other side" of the cooler, towards the rear, it's just held by metal clips that can be moved

Effect on temps should be minimal (as long as the fan still pushes the same way 🙂 )
