About once a week my pc will reboot three times in a row then it will say "No vbios detected on this card" and then it boots into windows normally and runs games fine and i tried reseating the card and am currently trying it on one of the lower pcie slots to see if the issue still happens and I'm considering an RMA for my gpu it's a msi rtx 3080. I've had this issue for a few years off and on and warranty will expire in five months i'm wondering if the gpu is the most likely thing to be wrong with the system or if it's the motherboard. I've updated Nvidia drivers did a clean install with DDU and even updated bios since i have a 13th gen cpu and cleared CMOS and did the reset windows pc where it reinstalls windows and the issue still happens across all of that. I have a i7 13700k and my motherboard is MSI pro 690A DDR5 my Bios version is E7D25IMS.AK0 and my power supply is Corsair RM1000x my gpu is RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X PLUS 12G OC LHR. I'm on windows 11 and my RAM is Corsair vengeance DDR5 5600mhz And i made sure my boot drive is formatted in GPT and All updates on msi center are downloaded and i checked msi's page for my gpu no vbios updates are available.

The "No VBIOS support detected" message on an MSI Pro Z690-A DDR5 motherboard with an integrated graphics processor (iGPU) typically indicates that you need to ensure your boot drive is formatted with GPT and that the BIOS is set to UEFI mode. This is because modern iGPUs, starting with 11th-gen Intel CPUs, no longer support VBIOS for Legacy CSM mode and rely on GOP (Graphics Output Protocol) drivers, which require UEFI mode.

Try updating the intel iGPU. An old driver can cause issues even if you are using a dedicated GPU. Also visit the MSi drivers and downloads website. You can download firmware updates for the VBIOS or use MSi Center for updates.

All updates on msi center are downloaded and i checked msi's page for my gpu no vbios updates are available. I have the IGPU turned off in bios so I'm just running off of the gpu I also made sure to have it on PEG in the bios. I will try to enable it and install any updates for it although i did that in the past and the issue still happened it's been on and off since i built the PC in October 2022 it seems random when it happens sometimes it will be a few times in a week sometimes it won't happen for a few weeks so I'm really not sure what it could be at this point unless it would be a issue with the RTX 3080 or the motherboard. But that had been happening almost since i built it from what i can remember but all power cords are in tight and connected and that has been the only issue I've ever had with this computer.

It is best to keep the iGPU enabled even though you are not using it. You might have to disable secure boot or enable secure boot. As long as you are not using BitLocker. Some motherboards have a hard time figuring out if the iGPU is in use or if the dedicated GPU is in use.

Thank you for your help I'll disable secure boot and see how that goes and I'll enable the IGPU and update IGPU drivers. Do you think it could be a dedicated gpu issue and would it be worth it to try an rma and see what they say? I may rma the gpu to them since they approved the rma and with the warranty up in five months I'd rather be without my gpu for a few weeks and make sure it's not the gpu since that was expensive vs a motherboard that wouldn't be as bad if i ever had to replace it and since the issue is inconsistent and random i don't want to run out of the warranty period and then be stuck with that happening. I've looked at the gpu and to me it looks okay there is some wear on the pins but nothing crazy that they'd deny rma for i don't think.

Nothing in the pics looks damaged.

That's kind of what i was thinking too it looks okay. I may rma the gpu and then go from there just to be safe i don't want to run out of warranty then have it die on me randomly since it's a really weird and random intermittent issue but I'll try what you suggested as well and I'll post back here after the RMA hopefully that solves whatever issue is going on.

It just happened again tonight and that's after updating IGPU drivers and enabling it once i started up my pc i was able to get a picture of it I'm 100% going to rma the gpu and hopefully that fixes whatever issue is happening. The pcie slot looks okay to me.
