Country: India

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly Free to play games like Marvel Rivals, CS GO, Children of Light etc .Light usage of Gimp, Davinci Resolve

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Currently, I own a HP Pavilion - i5 1235U, 16gb DDR4 ram, SN530 SSD. (Bought it 2 years ago for 72,000 INR (843.41 USD)

I'm building this PC which I want to use for 3 years or so and later will build a new PC with a X3D chip and want to repurpose this budget build as a NAS.

Option 1:

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5GHz Processor - 9,725.00 (113.92 USD)

MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI AMD Motherboard - 9,790.00 (114.68 USD)

Option 2:

Intel Core i5-12400 Processor - 13,150.00 (154.04 USD)

Gigabyte B760M D2H DDR4 Board - 9,650.00 (113.04 USD)

Remaining parts are same:

Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 6600 GAMING OC 8GB DDR6 Graphic Card - 20,345.00 (238.32 USD)

Crucial Pro 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4-3200 UDIMM (CP2K16G4DFRA32A) - 4,710.00 (55.17 USD)

MSI PSU 550W Bronze MAG A550BN - 3,800.00 (44.51 USD)

WD Blue SN5000 1TB - 5,465.00 (64.02 USD)

DeepCool AG400 ARGB Single Tower 120mm CPU Cooler (R-AG400-BKANMC-G-1) - 1,835.00 (21.50 USD)

Montech X3 MESH FRGB Mid Tower ATX Cabinet White - 5,841.00 (68.42)

Total Cost:

Build 1: 61,511 INR (720.54 USD)

Build 2: 64,796 INR (759.02 USD)

Both of them are slightly over budget, I'm not sure if I can reduce anywhere else.

P.S. I own 1080p Samsung Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, Controller.

AMD looks cheaper to me. Is it not? The CPUs are comparitively similar in performance on average.

If AMD is cheaper and you're pushing budget, def AMD.

Montech, Deepcool, Lian-Li, Fractal Design, Phanteks, Antec are good case brands.

Could technically get other similarly looking coolers if you can find. That support AM4 CPU.

Okk, then I'll keep the case. The next cheapest good option is Phanteks XT Pro Ultra which is 22$ more than my current choice.

For coolers, I don't really see anything else in this price range in my country. Arctic 36 is there but thats double the cost of AG400.

GPU, maybe bigger NVME drive,

Or better case that could last you longer time. How much extra is Montech 903 Max?

Better PSU for future higher powered GPUs?

Those might be better, SN580 is really good.

That one is pretty good too. It comes with built-in controller, the fans are proprietary, but from the controller the cable is same as for the motherboard headers.

Keep AG400, I have AG400 and it's very good, let me show you:
