so around novemeber last year i had the screen on my 15 replaced due to getting burn with tiktok but after being off the app for more then 6 seconds would make the burn in slowly start to dispear on a gray background

so apple recplaced the screen under warranty and i got into the car and it seemed fine in the moment so i just said screw it and never tried to see if i could see it again well the thought popped into my head again the other day and so i tried to see if it had burn in yet from the time i got the screen replaced and i thought hmmmm im gonna open up tiktok 66%-70% brightness and then scrolled throuhg a few videos went to a gray back ground and there is the ttiktokt burn in again and then same deal it slowly fades away

i've updated the phone

i've tried different apps (doesnt do it)

so what exactly is causing this and is it actual burn in or an tiktok/ios bug?

iphone 15 base model

Image retention. Burn-in is still an inherent downside to OLED displays.

I highly doubt there's anything software related that is keeping the T on-screen after you close the app. It's just an area of bright, solid white against (presumably) solid black, so you notice it more.

im talking about the plus when the app opens where it opens the camera

that gets stuck on the screen

i went away for awhile so i took my 11 with me and i onyl in the last month started using the 15 again so the screen has less then a month of screen time and i never even had it on high brightness so... i dont understand why its only tiktok that does it after a few videos and no other app at all even ones with the same color pattern

Sounds like TikTok is rotting your brain, I recommend not using it anymore. 😛  /s

But really, if it's an element of the app sticking on-screen it just sounds like a badly coded app bug.

cause i mean lets say i dont open tiktok. and just use other apps for an entire day and i go check for burn in. there is none at all but as soon as i open the app and scroll 2-3 videos close it then check. there is and then when i close the app and check again it slowly starts fading till there is nothing again and there wont be unless you open the app and scroll.... even the appple store guy when the screen got reaplced noticed what it was doing so im not crazy lmaooo. but yea thats whats been happening.....

Take a screenshot or screen recording of TikTok. If it does this with that as well it’s an issue with the phone (this would be my guess). If not, it’s somehow an extremely unusual TikTok bug.
