Hey everyone, I’ve been troubleshooting an issue with my Corsair NIGHTSWORD RGB and wanted to share what I found — and see if anyone else is experiencing the same thing. The Issue:

  • The mouse’s RGB lighting works perfectly from onboard memory at startup — but only if iCUE hasn't been launched. As soon as iCUE runs once, the mouse stops using the onboard profile on future startups, and the lighting no longer activates unless iCUE is loaded again.

What I Tested:

  • I restarted my PC three times without iCUE running:
    • RGB lighting turned on each time using the saved onboard profile.

  • I then launched iCUE, and after that, restarted the PC again:
    • The RGB lighting did not turn on unless iCUE started up again.

  • I confirmed that the profile was properly saved to Onboard Memory using iCUE’s "Save to Device" feature.

  • I also did a full mouse reset (Left Click + Right Click + DPI button during plug-in), reconfigured the onboard profile, and retested — the issue still persisted.

What Does Work:

When I enable (Lock) Device Memory Mode in iCUE, the mouse RGB works every time after shutdown. This seems to prevent iCUE from overriding the onboard profile. It seems like a software bug or design flaw in how iCUE interacts with onboard memory. Has anyone else run into this?
