I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of components that i could use to make a cheap but reliable computer when I upgrade my curent RTX 2060 6gb GPU that is curently in my computer. If I could make a cheap computer to use it for someone to do basic work on or as a second computer to run things like folding @ home. what components would people recomend for the cheapest but most reliable build.

the chepest i can get are

i3 12100F

i5 12400F

What one would be good to have

The i5 is more powerful than the i3, so if it isn't that much more expensive and you can afford it, go with that one.

For the CPU, the best cheap one to pair it with is the Ryzen 5 3600, which is what I have now. Sure it is like 6 years old and no longer being sold new, but it's a solid cheap-ish choice to pair with the 2060.

Do you want to use this as a gaming machine, or just for Folding@Home? Folding doesn't really need all that much from the CPU, so any older PC that has a strong enough power supply can run your GPU.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

I'm looking at a basic machien that would be able to be given to someone for a basic cheap gaming rig or to be used for things like folding @ home. I wanted to see what i could build when I eventualy need to upgrade my GPU becauser the games I play requier a better GPU and more vram
