I recently got a clevo RTX 2080 and ended up putting too much pressure on one of the corners. I was trying toupgrade my Clevo P750DM2-G that had a gtx 1070 and i think it corner chipped after i put the cooler on it. i tried it and it luckily does display an image with no artifacting but it hangs on the bios logo. I think it just might just be a bios incompatability issue as i have what i assume is the default bios (ver 1.06.11) from 2017. Would adding a modded bios fix the issue or is the gpu just dead? the crack is only on the very tip and i dont think it reached any core components. Its very small and i took me a while to notice so it could still be alive.

Upgrading mxm gpu's has always been a miss. It's always been a problem and so far hasn't improved. You can try a newer bios but unless this variant HAD a 2080m 0 guarantee it will ever work.

As for the damage that does look to just be cosmetic so probably good to go.

I think this might just be the latest bios for it though, i did some research and this version adds support for 7th gen intel. I have found a modded bios, it doesn't explicitly say that it adds support for a RTX cards though. It says i can add support for up to an i9 9900ks with pin modification of course (since mine has a z170 chipset). if i cant do anything, i still can return the GPU, i just got it because i got a really sweet deal on a card that is usually 400 plus. (i got it for 140 cad). bios mod link: https://github.com/supermarsx/other-clevo-modded-bios/blob/main/P7xxDMx-0729-9900KS.7z

I cant exactly find any solid info online weather it would work or if it had a model with an RTX 2080, but i found a heatsink on ebay that has mounting for an RTX 2060, 2070, and 2080. It is for a clevo P750DM2 which is basically the same model as mine if anything older. https://www.ebay.com/itm/235893848238?autorefresh=true

I'd say send it. However does that mean you don't have a cooler atm for this? If so DO NOT test this uncooled. SECONDS are enough to wreck a bare die like that.

No i had some old cpu heatsink with to test it with. that likely caused the crack so i dont really want to do any further tests with it. At least until i get the proper cooler.
