Video deinterlacing program

Go to solution Solved by John Reactor,

Apart from VitualDub you can also try AviDemux

I need recommendations on a free deinterlacing software.

I shoot on DVCAM tape a great deal and usually I want to convert its 480i video to 480p before dropping it into the editor to eliminate the motion artifacts from interlacing. I am currently using HandBrake, but I have to use the X264 CPU encoder because using NVENC causes significant audio desync that is a pain in the ass to fix.

I'd love to know if there is a more streamlined (and dare I say more functional) program than HandBrake specifically just to deinterlace.

I use NCH VideoPad to edit videos, it sadly does not have any deinterlacing options unless MiniDV tapes are recorded straight into the editor - which I do not do.

AviDemux works wonders. Deinterlaces a whole MiniDV tape in about a minute - HandBrake has to re-process the video and it takes nearly an hour for the same job. Thank you so much!
