Budget (including currency): $4000.00 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming / Some CAD Drawing & MS Office

This is the list I have with Microcenter right now. I do have it set for 64gb of ram due to some of the cad drawing, can cut back if overkill. The store nearest me (Cambridge MA) has no decent Graphics Cards available in store. I am willing to look elsewhere for card and install it myself. I just want to make sure that I would get a good 4k video, starting with one monitor for the time being. I will have to buy a new keyboard as well, RGB is not 100% required but an added bonus if does have it.

Part List selected (willing to add or change items based on performance suggestions)

Core i9-14900K Raptor Lake-S Refresh 3.2GHz Twenty Four-Core LGA 1700 Boxed Processor (389.48)

990 EVO 1TB Samsung V NAND TLC NAND PCIe Gen 4 x4 and PCIe Gen 5 x2 NVMe M.2 Internal SSD (74.99) (Operating System / Some Local Files)

Windows 11 Pro 64 bit (199.99)

Microcenter Total $1,192.92 not including Tax, and build fee.

Parts needed

More fans for case cooling, a good available graphics card (4K), 24 - 27" 4K monitor, keyboard, any suggestions on other peripherals I may need. May want a stream deck or like device for macro keys.

Don't run four sticks of RAM. Look for a 2x32GB set of DDR5-6000 CL30 and look at a locked 14 gen i7.

I am not seeing a locked 14gen i7 available currently at the local Microcenter, any suggestions besides Amazon that might have one in stock to look at before I either order the parts or have Microcenter build it?  (I have not built a pc in over 15 years, so willing to let them handle it).

Pretty much any local PC / laptop repair shop will build your PC for you for a small fee if you bring them the components. Some will even build it at your home. This way you know exactly what you're getting. This psu was designed for fish tank cases such as the Hyte. This board supports PCIe 5.0 for both the gpu and first SSD slot.

Thank you that is most helpful. I may just build it out myself as there is not a lot of local pc repair places around where I live. This may sound strange but, If I can get some parts not from Microcenter, if I purchase some from them and some online, would they build the pc with parts not purchased from them? I am guessing that would be a no but worse case scenario, I would just build it myself.

I'm not sure if MC builds PC's using non MC purchased parts or not. I would think they do.

I chatted with a Micro Center employee not too long ago about the same question. If I remember correctly, they will charge you for using outside components if you have them build it and the build warranty plan you can purchase after won't be eligible for said parts. Also the Micro Center in Cambridge had more of a selection in terms of GPUs if you go in person, for some reason looking online it doesn't show(I assume sometimes they don't update the page on the website).
