Hello, My name is Landon and in 2021 I built my first gaming computer. I had spent 1600$ at that time it preformed amazingly and could handle all the games I play. Although recently the games star citizen, war thunder, and Arma 3 have been getting noticeably slower with every few updates. These are the specs for my PC:

AMD Ryzen 5 5500 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor

Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory

Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive

Sabrent Rocket Q 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive

XFX Speedster QICK 319 BLACK Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB Video Card

NZXT H510i ATX Mid Tower Case

EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GA 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

HP X27q 27.0" 2560 x 1440 165 Hz Monitor

I have updated my Ram with the same type of ram but 2 x 16 GB and I kept 1 of the 8 GB but I couldn't keep both because the fan blocks the first ram port. I was wanting to upgrade the CPU and get a new CPU cooler and I want to upgrade to the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8 Ghz 8-core processor but I don't know what cooler/radiator would keep it cool for 2-5 hour or longer gaming sessions. I was also wondering I would need to get a new Power supply? Any Ideas or better options?

The original parts list: Lando Build 7-29

PS, I bought the RX 6700XT speedster series for $400 dollars in 2021 XD

This is not a bad build but the CPU is indeed going to underperform a little in those heavy CPU demanding games.

I would personally go with a 5700X3D over a 5800x as the extra 3DV-Cache is lovely in demanding games.

A cooler should be able to keep the CPU cool no matter if you play for 10 minutes or 300 hours...

A Thermalright Peerless Assassin SE120 will keep the 5700X3D / 5800x cool without any worries 🙂

It will also fit in the NZXT H510i .

650w PSU is still enough for a CPU upgrade and that 6700 XT 🙂  No problem.

The SuperNOVA GA 650w is an okay unit.

Just use 2x16 GB RAM, dont add another 8GB to this.  3 Sticks of RAM is no bueno.

For gaming, absolutely 🙂

You can see in this 10 game average at 1080p with a 4090 that the 5700X3D does beat out the 5800x in gaming.

It matters less at 1440p and not at all at 4k really.  But I still do suggest the 5700X3D, it will 'last longer'

The 1% lows are also better.
