Hey everyone,

I’m having an issue with a new monitor AOC G27Q3XMN, and while the second (older) monitor wakes up from sleep just fine, the AOC won’t respond after Windows turns off the display due to inactivity.

When I return and move the mouse or press keys, the secondary monitor wakes as expected—but the AOC stays black. I have to manually power cycle the monitor (turn it off and on again) to get the display back.

Monitor is set to the correct input and doesn't appear to auto-switch

Windows display settings and drivers are up to date

The monitor is connected via DP. This only happens when the display is turned off due to inactivity (i.e. not full system sleep or hibernation), so I’m assuming it’s a monitor sleep/wake compatibility issue.

Has anyone else had this issue with this model (or similar)? Any firmware updates, driver tweaks, or settings I should try next?

Appreciate any insights!

Is there a setting in the OSD for DisplayPort Deep Sleep? It should be disabled.

If there isn't a setting or it is, my steps would be:

  • OSD factory reset
  • Check manufacturer for firmware updates (generally budget displays don't have user serviceable firmware)
  • Try with another PC
  • Try with other cables
  • Try with HDMI

If there is still no clear indication as to why this is happening after all this, it may just be defective.

Did you find out why this is happening? I have the exact same issue with the this monitor!

EDIT: FIXED BY PLUGGING IN A DIFFERENT DP SLOT ON MY GPU
