hey all!

I am new to the community and on the chance of sounding completely dumb I wanted to place my questions here in hopes of gaining more insights and becoming more confident in tinkering with tech stuff 😄

So I recently bought a PC I configured myself at a systems integrator here in Germany. It arrived just during the holidays and I am super happy with it so far! (although I am still getting used to having a PC again after my personal laptop broke years ago)
However even after watching a ton of PC building videos before, I noticed two things that confused/ irritated me a bit, especially since they did not include any manuals with the PC.

One is this random cable pair sticking out - after looking up the motherboard manual online it seems like it is connected to the Chassis Intrusion Connector? Is this sensor really needed or can I unplug it? I looked it up in the Bios and the Chassis Intrusion Configuration option looked disabled anyways.

The second thing is that they are using a custom case and the Power button is blinking constantly when the PC is on and it's suuuper distracting (I will attach a video) - after googling a bit I assume its the HDD LED - I could not find an option to turn this LED off in the Bios, would it be safe to just unplug the cable? Is there a downside to it? Anything I should be aware off?

Here are the components btw

-AMD Ryzen 7 9700X

-Radeon RX 9070 Sapphire Pure
-MSI B850 Gaming plus wifi

-32GB 6000MHz Kinggston Fury RAM

-MSI Mag CoreLiquid A13 360

-M.2 2GB Kingston NV3 NVMe

-850W Asus Prime Gold AP-850G

Any feedback or also general tips to setup a new PC will be highly appreciated ^^

Things like chassis intrusion and POST speakers simply use a modular header that you can unplug. Same with power LED, which I've done plenty of times where you simply unplug its header so its non functional. HDD activity LEDs are notoriously worthless in this century, so I leave those unplugged all the time (most newer cases don't even have it).

You can, but unless you live alone and no one else can enter your home/room/office without your physical presence, don't.

It's there to let you know that someone opened your case and the only time it should be on is after the case has been opened.

Depending on how it's set up, it SHOULD also place a warning in a log file.

If it bothers you that much, being that it's a low voltage bulb you can safely hide the bulb under a either a layer of paint or tape.
