Power usage of PCIE SLOT compared to 16 pin.

Go to solution Solved by Needfuldoer,

That's perfectly fine.

Hi everybody, just got a rtx 5080, and i'm trying to see if everything is alright. It has 112 ROPS so that's good, but while doing some random benchmarks i noticed one thing, it is not pulling power at all from the pcie slot, all from the 16 pin. I have all 3 8 pin linked to it so it's cool i guess, it has enough power i suppose, but is it normal ? Does the gpu prefer to draw power from the 16 pin instead of pcie ?

That's a *good* thing. I've run into instability when the PCIe power bus is overly taxed.
