GPU usage newly build rig crashes no error audio keeps playing but no input

I have a newly build rig rx 9070 xt ryzen 7 7800x3d and a b650 e/f with windows 11.
Every couple hours my gpu gets 100 usage on decode on things like chrome discord windows widgets and steam client webhelper. Those services start lagging and if i dont force close it with task manager i get a freeze wich will only stop with a hard reboot by pressing the button.
I tried ddu reinstalling drivers reseating ram. turning expo on or off. And i dont know what to do next its really annoying it was a really expensive rig.

What i do find strange is that overall usage on top of task manager is not effected by gpu util 100 it stays normal only those programs show 100 usage

Yes but not exclusive to. It is kind of random but happens mostly when watching screen share playing vid on chrome or vid on steam store. Also no other app seems to effect it as in performance i dont see a fps drop just usague 100 program becomes unresponsive and eventually freeze.

do you have excess to a different gpu you could test with?

Nope, But i think it is software related (win11) or something with motherboard but i dont know how to troubleshoot that. If it was faulty gpu i would have problems with vram fps or such.

Its unlikely but do you have a usb drive with the windows 11 installation media on it? or a different windows running computer you could get it from?

Yea i tried to reinstall win11 from the usb. But the issue still persists. i thought it was maybe win11 not cooperating with the amd drivers. Dont have a win10 key but could try to install that. But i find it weird that its always the same apps that get the issue discord, chrome, steam webhelper and windows widgets. i also tried to disable hardware acceleration because all those apps use that but also no succes

did you get the installation media from the pc you have with the problem? getting a windows installation media from a pc with a windows problems can copy over the problems.

I'm sorry but that does sound like a driver issue to me (especially because I experienced similar stuff on AMD GPUs)

 

Is there really nothing in event viewer? You said you can sometimes prevent a crash...at that point there should be "something" in event viewer? Look for any "critical" errors...

Well got the problem...... Its a fault in windows 11 24h2. It only happens with electron apps. So as i said chrome discord steam webclient. Nothing i can do about it except wait for 25h1 apparently happens on both nvidia aswell as amd. Cant roll back to version 23 without reinstalling windows which includes reformatting. Guess its time for arch fuck microsoft.
