Is my i9-14900k cooked?

XMP has never worked for me and my games crash constantly, but again I reduced the clock speed and it worked so I think fine.

Ok, long story short, trying to play Rainbow 6 for the first time and was dealing with the game not able to launch.

 

One Redditor mentioned downloading Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and changing the Performance Core Ratio down one. For me it 57x -> 56x.

 

Ended up solving several crashing/bluescreen problems I've been having in the past 6-8 months. 

 

One commenter on that post I saw mentioned how a core is probably bad in CPU. I'm wondering if that's true and whether it's worth getting a new CPU (AMD this time lol) or just keeping it underclocked.
