Asrock PGO32UFS Appears Curved When Advertised as Flat. Defect or by Design?

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else has purchased a Asrock PGO32UFS monitor and can tell me if what I am seeing is a real issue. The monitor, which is advertised as flat, appears to curve away from the user on the left and rights sides. This is the opposite direction of most curved monitors. However my previous monitor had a very deep curve (the Samsung Neo Odyssey G7) so this is my first flat 32 inch monitor, so I am not sure if my eyes are playing tricks on me or if this design is normal for 32-inch displays. Could anyone advise me whether this curvature is a defect or by design?

I doubt its curving away from you.

I do believe your eyes are playing a trick on you since you were so used to a deep curve on the G7.

Its quite easy to check if its curving away from you or not.. Just put it on the floor and look at it from above, is the monitor straight or slightly curved?

You can also used objects like a long straight ruler or even string to check.

Or put it against a straight wall and see if its curving away from the wall on the edges.

Definitely an optical illusion. When I switched from my G7 as well, for 2 or 3 weeks everything looked like it was convex, meaning curved away. You're eyes need time to readjust to flat panels.

I had this same thing happen moving from my curved 34” ultrawide to a 42” flat display. Top corners felt like they were bending away from me.

Thanks for the responses everyone! However I thought it was strange that the Asrock monitor looked curved, but my secondary LG monitor didn't. So I had someone else look at it and they agreed that it looked curved. I laid it flat with a yardstick on top of it and took a photo, the yardstick isn't flush with the screen. So I ended up returning it today, which is a shame because it seemed like a nice monitor. I've attached the photo in case anyone was interested.
