I've been hunting around for anyway to play video on Apple Carplay. There's a ton of YT videos on it but all the peripherals seem like crappy ad scams and the reviews on amazon the same. Has anyone had any luck with getting video playback on Carplay with any method that isn't jailbreaking? Thanks!

PS. Yes, watching video while driving is bad.聽馃檪

And this is probably why all you can find is either jailbreak or scams. For road safety and litigation possibilities allowing this to masses would cause.

You can already do this with aftermarket units and a simple 10 dollar bypass module/wire. I had it in my 2013 Veloster when I upgraded to AA/Carplay unit. It's really not that big of a deal. You don't actually watch the videos when you're driving. I don't know of a way to do it on stock units but I'm sure there are similar bypasses for specific cars.

Being able to do something with DIY modules and hacks (=changing software to do something its not designed to do) is different from manufacturer allowing it. You can hack tech to do vastly different and variety of things, but manufacturer/developer might not be fond about giving direct tools for it. For reasons I mentioned.

Yeah I get it. Just figured Samsun Dex attachments exist that perform similar tasks, was hoping something similar existed for iOS. Mostly is for those hour long soccer practice drives.聽
