CSE-826A-R1200LPB not posting

Hey yall,

 

im working on my own kind of home nas/vm server kind of thing and im quite enthusiastic about enterprise hardware. this is kind of my first real enterprise grade gear. I have loaded a supermicro x8dth-i motherboard.

 

i was previously able to boot the motherboard as is on my bench, but once i got the CSE-826A-R1200LPB chassis i threw the board in there. both power supplies light up and i get one beep from the motherboard but then no video output to the bios or anything. ive tried all sorts of ram configs as i recently also purchased 192gb sk hynix ddr3 ecc rdimms. anyone have any idea why it might not be posting?

 

im wondering if its because i dont have any drives in the front bays but im not sure
