It seems like you're either misunderstanding what you're reading or not describing what you're trying to do correctly.

The circled ports are identical.

Please understand that what you're trying to do, plug in a GPU to a Corsair PSU, is a solved issue. Its routine. We've kind of done this before.

PCIe 8pin and 12V EPS 8-pin are different but on the component side, NOT the PSU side on the generation of Corsair PSU's in question here.

Should be pretty clear given the label says "6+2 PCIe 4+4 CPU"

hi guys, wrote a while back inquiring for a 5080 upgrade and had a previous post which i will post for context:

So, i finally managed to find ( coming next week ) a RTX 5080 at 1200 euros, which is magic here, it was a web only order so, NICE. Hopefully everything goes well. THAT SAID.

As seen in the post above i have a 750 w PSU which doing the math we reached the conclusion it's fine since i don't have other power hungry components, the question was related to the cables i should be using.

I have right now a 3080 with 2 8 pin cables connecting to it. Each cable is directly connected to the psu. I will of course link those 2 directly to the 3 to 1 connector included in the card.

THE QUESTION: 2 cables SHOULD be fine power wise, BUT linking to the last question never answered to the post above:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Should i just connect 1 extra 8 pin cable ( i have 2 nice braided ones connected to the card right now which i bought after buying the psu and i also have the original cables, so i would uyse one of the original ones( less beautiful but wethever )in the psu in the spot where the yellow question mark is ? because my psu is the same as that and tha slot is not getting used.

PS: i'm getting the PNY GeForce RTX 5080 Overclocked Triple Fan 16GB GDDR7 DLSS4 HDMI/3*DisplayPort PCi Ex 5.0 16x

If you have the older RM750x, you have enough connectors. If you need 3x 8-pin's, you'll use two from one and one from the other. Simple. (this is a long ago solved problem)

If you don't like the look of that, you can buy Corsair's dedicated 600W 12v2x6 cable. If its the latest model of the RM750x, it already came with that.

If you have the newer RM750x, it comes with a 12V2x6 cable in the box so no adapters needed.

Regardless of the version of RM750x you have, you have at least 2x PCIe cables with 2x 6+2 connectors on each. If you need 2x 8-pin's, you'll use two from one and one from the other. Simple. (this is a long ago solved problem)

ehm... i thikn there is a misunderstanding... using 2 of the 3 plugs for the convertor is of course what i'm going to do, what i'm asking if it's better if i pull out the old base cable and put in the yellow spot and link all 3 3->1 to the psu.

I made some adjustments, F5.

All of these are exactly the same, use whichever you want.

OOOH, ok so, they do the exact same ? meaning : right now i have the 2 on the left occupied with 2 gpu cables and the one on the right with the cpu cable. I can use the spare GPU cable i have to plug it in the final free slot and connect all 3 of the slots each one with a dedicated cable for that slot to the 3 slot of the 3 to 1 convertor. The reason i would od this is to put less strain to the 2 cables giving the gpu an extra cable. Does it make sense ?

Yes, they're all labeled either PCIe or CPU so yes they all do the same thing. Use any of them for either of those two purposes.

You can do that if you want, sure. Unlikely to make a difference but I understand it makes people feel better.

ok, back from the weekend away, so, indeed i got confused by other old articles on non modular psu, tried it with my 3080 and indeed i can switch them all up freely, neat. Thank you for the help
