task manager says im using 80+% of my ram when adding up the first page is about 2.5 gigs. I have 32 gigs.

Hello, thank you to anyone that will help my issue.
I have 32 gigs in my system atm. and my ram gets maxed out a ton. I did a reset on my bios and re did the manufacturers ram profile they gave me. bios reports 32 gigs, task man reports 32 gigs.but its like ill use 5 gigs any my system crashes from maxing out muh rams.
Looking at my gpu is says 16gb of shared memory for a total of 24 gigs vram.

from what I was reading, it is the ram being shared. but I cant seem to find a way to disable that, which is just down right stupid if thats the issue. that is shares 16 gigs, like chill homie, leave some scraps for the others.
I uploaded my speccy. If anyone knows how to change or disable the shared memory thing, i cant find it in bios. I will love you forever.

Let me know what other info you need from me, and i will hopefully be around to provide that.

thanks my bruhs!

OP has utility above 16GB, this most likely isnt a hardware issue if im being frank with you.

Id appreciate a Resource Monitor screenshot, OP. Especially the detailed tab on Physical Memory.

Also tetras, here is several detail screen shots. i enabled several tabs since commit was off, ive named each file for what it is sorted by. I didnt know what commit was until now, very helpful tab

Yeah then it seems like just conflicting Task Manager reports then, it is using all of the RAM during actual workloads. Though, what about it on idle, does In Use reporting still deviates far from Task Manager's number?

You definitely should not do this...

Also if you're adding up ram in tskmngr you need to add up *everything* not just the first page (I'd thought that's obvious, but...)

Lastly,I think you're just using a whole lot of ram tbh, I'm not really seeing anything that looks off...but tbf also keep in mind tskmngr doesn't necessarily show you everything, some processes might be hidden...

The real way to check on ram is resource monitor (as you've already found out)

help me fix my issue

Is there really an issue? I mean, yes, either stop using so much ram or buy more? 😅  But in my experience this will be of no use, some people just can't stop themselves, more RAM, they'll just use more!!!

Me, I dunno, my laptop has 32gb and it's using about the same as my desktop with 16gb (around 3.5gb on average) ie. 32gb is wayyyy too much but it sure is nice to have for some rare occasions (I did notice doing video encoding it's actually using more, like 20-25gb) but typically it's really hard to use up all ram, windows is really good nowadays with freeing it up when needed (ofc it can't do that when there's a gazillion programs actively running ...)
