Hi,

I am trying to get my 4x8 GB Patriot Viper Steel 3733 MHz CL17 RAM configuration to work.

While 2x8 GB worked correctly with an XMP profile, 4x8 GB, of course, doesn’t.

My setup:

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X

RAM: 4x8 GB Patriot Viper Steel 3733 MHz CL17

Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus B550 Elite V.2

My current settings:

System Memory Multiplier: 36.00

FCLK: 1800 MHz

Timings: 18/20/20/40

DRAM Voltage: 1,36V

VDDP: Auto (haven’t touched it yet)

VDDG GCD: 1.05V

VDDG IOD: 1,05V

VDDP: Auto (haven’t touched it yet)

SOC: Auto (same situation as before)

Overall the Windows stability is good, there are no BSODs, the RAM usage doesn’t spike however apps based on JS frameworks (Chromium, Electron) such as Brave, VSCode, Discord fail to start properly after I adjust the settings.

However, after I delete all of their cache files, they usually manage to work correctly.

I want to achieve greater stability, which settings should I change?

For that? Maybe try 1.1-1.125VSOC, IOD up to 1.065, 1.045-1.055 should be all you need, but shouldn't need 1.065 till 1900 1:1. Shouldn't really need to do much until you pass 3666.

Asus Strix X670E-F | 32GB Lexar Ares @ 6400 30-36-36-68 1.55v

Zotac 4070 Ti Trinity OC | WD SN850, SN850X, 3x SN770 6TB

Asus PA602, 2x 200x38, 1x 140x38 | Seasonic Vertex GX-1000

I set SOC to 1,1V; IOD to 1.065V, GCD to 1.045 and left VDDP on Auto. Didn't really change anything, OCCT doesn't even start. I only managed to take a photo of ZenTimings.

I also noticed that while SOC value changes, the CCD and IOD seem not to no matter the changes in BIOS...

Do you have a good board, or are you just using something low level?

Gigabyte Aorus B550 Elite V.2

Idk really, I believe that for this setup it's at least decent... At least it was at the time of building it January of 2021.

I could try to update the BIOS but I doubt it'll make any significant change without properly adjusting the voltages.

giga has the absolute best b550s available aside from the msi unify x though afaik the aorus elites are only 4 layer boards not 6 layer like the aorus pros so no ddr4 6000+ shenanigans but itll be more than enough for a weak vermeer imc

send thaiphoon burner screenie of all 4 ram sticks, your issues are making me suspicious of mix match ics not playing well together

My Strix XE was pretty good with 4 dimms. It was stable at 1933 1:1 with 4 sticks of 3200C14.

I’ve just checked and all of them have dies from Hynix.

Besides that the rest of the parameters seem to match, except for two of the modules not having set a serial number and manufacturing date which seems a bit odd, but shouldn’t be an issue ig.
