Hey Y'all,

I am finally deciding to upgrade my GPU. I have been able to get by in recent times by playing more CPU demanding games. Although now I can feel the strain on my graphics. I am open to switching to AMD but I have remained on Nvidia my entire time gaming. What GPU would you reccomend. I have a 750 gold psu. The system peaks at 550 Watts. With this in mind should I go straight to a 5070 ti or go for a previous generation of cards? My budget is 1500 USD

This is my current build:  https://pcpartpicker.com/user/JesterHorse/saved/wCrQGX

Any help would be apprciated!

A 5070 Ti would be an incredible jump in performance for this system.

You won't be limited by the CPU as the 13700k is still a really fast CPU.

The PSU is also plenty fine for a 5070 Ti, the RM750 is a very good unit.

If you can afford the 5070 Ti and want to play games with higher graphical settings and framerate, go for it!

Or the AMD equivalent.

Its time to retire that 1070 Ti 🙂  Its done its job.

At a minimum, RX 7900 XT's like this one have been coming into stock around midday in the US at $650:

SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 7900 XT Video Card 21323-01-20G - Newegg.com

RX 9070/XT's are a nightmare to get, and most of them now are well above MSRP.

RTX 5070ti is probably the lowest card worth spending a decent amount on right now, but you're spending $1k on them. If you can find one that's legit under $900, its probably worth it.

RTX 5080 isnt worth it unless you never plan to use more than 1440p in resolution, especially at the normal $1400+ it sells for rn.

Considering GPU prices right now, it might be a better idea to wait. If you really have to upgrade right now and don't use ray-tracing, AMD is probably the better option. A Radeon 9070xt should be around 780 bucks, while a rtx 5070ti would set you back 900 bucks. If you really want to spend that 1400 bucks, you could also get a rtx 5080 for around 1300 bucks, but that would be overkill for CPU bound games. So if you want Ray tracing, go with the RTX 5070ti and if not, go with the Radeon 9070XT.
